Without Prejudice: I was contacted by Mona Lisa Maasdorp of Hammondpole Attorneys who unprofessionally informed me with a threat of legal action (for a SBSA debt which has prescribed.) I politely requested the closing balance and date and value of the last payment made as this lady's correspondence had no information attached to it other than a threat. After a second polite request I received the following reply (sic) 'mr egger we dont send out statment if you need one please go to the bank and just get one from them.' This is disgusting service and highly indicative of entities that are clearly out to work the system. I am entitled to this information upon request and am entitled to appropriate respect by virtue of the clear stipulations of the Act. This debt has prescribed unless proven otherwise. This company should be taken to task for allowing rude and unprofessional people who evidently do not know what they are doing and have no inkling of the law to deal directly with and interface with the public at large. I am going to approach my attorneys today to deal with this as well as approach the Ombudsman with a complaint. I have rights and they will be exercised. |
