Yesterday my Gautrain card stopped working. I have used the card in the morning to come to Sandton, but last night the card was dead and showed invalid passage on the screen when swiping it to get to the platform. I had just reloaded the card with the 7 day pass for the coming weeks travelling to work. I spoke to the customer services who advised the card is dead (not showing anything) and she needs a receipt to be able to proof that i paid for the pass. So i found the receipt and went back this morning before work. I was told that the card had to be sent away to be investigated and I will be refunded in 14 days!! for the value of my card. I was asked to purchuse a new card and load money on the card again to be able to travel to work!! Surely a malfuntion of your equipment should not mean that I have to dish out MORE to use YOUR transport?? I find it really poor that Gautrain cannot just give me a new card with the 7 day pass on it that I paid for, especially seeing that you have my receipt. |
