| Furniture City (through African Bank) debited my account on the 15th December without my authority for the account I have with them. Again on the 30th December the same debit order went off. I then instructed my banker to reverse one debit order since it had already been debited on the 15th. Upon reversal of my second debit order, I received an SMS of apology from African Bank (on behalf of Furniture City of course) for running two debit orders in one month. However, on the 21st January I received a mobile statement from African Bank stating that my account is in arrears. I then called the collections department and was told that they never received payment for December. I then gave my bank statement to the Bel Airs branch which clearly reflects that two debit orders went off successfully and only one was reversed on the 30th of December. Furnitur City / African Bank has since not resolved the issue despite having issued them with my bank statement as testimony to the fact that my account was debit by them in December. | |||
