Furniture city no answers

I purchased a living room L shaped couch which after just over a year has collapsed. I called Furniture City in January and they told me to wait until the 20th of that month. Toward the end of January I was informed that they would collect the items to be taken back to the factory for repair and assessment. I then received another call telling me that they are making progress on the case. Since then I have not received any update. I suspect that the furniture was sub-standard and that a repair is probably not possible. I also suspect that Furniture City is hoping that if they ignore the issue that it will go away. Viewing the numerous complaints against FC on this site it is clear that this is one retailer that could really improve. I would really appreciate it if the store can contact me and provide me with details regarding what they have done or intend to do.

Your complaint has been logged at Customer Care and is receiving our urgent attention. We have received a response from the warehouse that the paperwork for the exchange couch will be processed today.

Customer Care will be doing the necessary follow up calls and will keep you updated with feedback.

Indifferent: Since this conversation took place Furniture City has not honoured its promises. I have contacted the branch and been promised a return phone call which has not happened. I am pretty unimpressed with this, but have been told that I will be given a store credit for an alternative couch. I suppose I can just wait and see...
