My girlfriend is a doctor. In December 2011, before she started her first job, she opened up a platinum account at FNB and was told that she could get a credit card only after she had been paid her first salary. As expected she was charged R110 for December and January since the charge for the unlimited option on the platinum account is R110 On Thursday 09/02/2012 she went to FNB at Killarney to apply for the credit card and the relationship manager Anna told her the card is R47pm. When she told Anna that the R110pm includes the credit card fee Anna said no. Unknowingly she accepted these terms What is wrong with the FNB staff that they do not even know their own products??? The FNB website clearly states that medical professionals receive the credit card and account for R110pm. Furthermore the FNB pricing guide clearly states that people on the unlimited option Platinum account pay R110pm for the account and credit card. Now we have to go back to the bank tomorrow to sort this mess out. Luckily closing the account can also be done while we're there. Just goes to show that despite their marketing FNB are still way behind the rest when it comes to service. |

I must first say that the issue was almost entirely of my own misunderstanding. Fortunately Graeme Barrett at the Killarney branch called and explained all the details to me Very happy with the process. |
