Hi, I applied to switch my home loan from Absa to FNB. The house is currently on a joint account with Absa and i would like to move it on my name only. I went to the branch and told them this and completed all the forms given to me, gave FICA, IDs, Statemetns, etc etc etc... Now after nearly a week and me doing all own follow ups, i am told that the application cannot switch as the law does not permit a switch and changing the names on the bond at the same time... so where does that leave me now??? Now i have to go back to the branch and re-apply for a different type of home loan when i have ALREADY done that. What really upset me what that there was no alternatives, as in change the existing application (with my permission that i gave over the phone and the call is recorded) to a new home loan application, as in a buy and sell and not switch. i asked for this option and was shot down without it being considered. FNB cannot expect me to take off from work again and go back to the branch and go through this process all over again. I am really not happy with this service esp since all i hear on the radio is how easy it is to bank with FNB. |
