Bad communication

On 28 November I ordered books online from Exclusive Books, requesting the books to be delivered to my local Exclusive Books shop. I then sent an email to find out how I'd know when the books had arrived but received no answer from them. I sent 2 more emails and eventually received an answer that the shop would contact me. In the meantime I popped in at the shop, who told me I would receive an email from the website stating that the books had arrived!! So...which is it?? Phone call or email? And... I know that it states on the website that the books should take approximately 10 working days to be delivered, but when I order from an international company in the USA it takes 4 days from delivery to my door?
