Unrealistic Billing

I hired a car from Europecar in OR Tambo. I drove to midrand(37km),then to randburg(25km), then to monte casino(8km), back to rand burg(8km) and back to monte casino(8km). The next morning i drove from Monte casino to midrand(21km). On calculating my total km i get to 107km. Before returning the car at Grand Central Airport i filled R120 wich i consider reasonable as i was doin freeway driving and using a renault san diro.

On inspection of my bank statement i found a large deduction from my deposit and requested the invoice. inspecting the invoice i notice that the mileage logged is 125km, wich i can live with, however the fuel that they have deducted to top up is R145.74.

This amount added the the R120 i added before returning the car comes to R265.74 worth of fuel for a total distance of 125km. At an average cost of R10.50 a liter that would mean the car consumed 25 liters to cover a distance of 125km.

I queried the claim with europecar to which i got an email reply stating claim declined. This is modern day robbery, and companies like this should'nt be allowed to operate in our local markets. I would like my top up deduction refunded as this is pure consumer *****!!!

Indifferent: my refund was paid in full, however the situation should have never occured.
