Last year November, we hired a car from Europcar. When they refunded my deposit after hiring the car, I realised that they had deducted R396 more than they should have. When I inquired what it was for, they told me it was for refuelling. I then told them that it is impossible, as we refuelled on the way to the airport. I realise that the garage was about 25km from the airport, but that there is no way that it could be R396! They then told me that they will investigate, but that they have a VERY rigorous checking system. Well..... The end of the story is that they will refund HALF of my money. So I suppose I have to be really grateful that I at least received half of my money. I also received a invoice for R610 for a flat tyre. I wish I had the same luxury that Europcar has, and be able to just pay them half. So if you ever hire a car from them, make sure that you check everything with the person at the Europcar drop off. Take photo's, keep slips, and if something happens like a flat tyre, be sure to go and get your own quotes. OBVIOUSLY EUROPCAR DOES NOT HAVE SUCH A RIGOROUS CHECKING SYSTEM AS THEY CLAIM. |

Our Process with regards to refuelling vehicles requires that the date, time and fuel usage are recorded . We were unable to locate any discrepancies and credited 50% of the charge as a gesture of goodwill. We sincerely apologise for being unable to further assist you in this instance.
