Excuses Upon Excuses

So shocked at how we have been treated during such a stressfull time. We have been with Discovery on and off for many years so all records are available.

We are not people that abuse (we actually hardly use) our medical aid.

We rejoined in July 2026 after a month break due to finances.

October 2026 my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and in need of emergency surgery. Discovery paid for the MRI - no issue but the authorisation for surgery - impossible.

Reports from doctors (not even involved in the matter) requested which we only received yesterday.

This morning I get a call stating authorisation has been declined because we never disclosed that my husband started forgetting words about 6 months ago and he also had a MRI in 2022 for back pain.

The brain has NEVER been an issue and you can see that on your system!

Over and above all the stress we have at the moment they just politely tell me that our medical aid has been cancelled and we must re apply. So there is NO chance of my husband being treated for possible cancer.

So please for anyone wanting to join Discovery please remember when they ask the health questions its not just for the last 12 months its for when you were 2 years old and bumped your toe also!!

So sad, stressed and heartbroken by this event. I dont even know which way forward.
