I was hospitalised in August last year to have my appendix removed. i had gone to see doctor during my lunch becase of an unbearable pain i had, doctor found out that it was appendix and admitted me immediately and i got operated, now apparently the surgeon isn't charging "discovery rates" and i have to pay the difference, how was i suppose to know at the state i was in, they say they could have paid only if it was an emergency... and according to them emergency is only when you are unconscious....BULL!!!!! i mean that was not a planned hospital stay for *** sake... what if i had an accident and seriously injured but conscious??? i came to think that profit is the most important thing for discovery and they claim to be the best medical AID (i don't see them aiding anything) |

This is based on the following, the initial request for authorisation was not for an appendix operation, and the operation was only performed the day after you were admitted into hospital. I can confirm that we paid the accounts correctly based on this information and in line with your selected plan. Quite Impressed:
The Guy Called me within few hours of my report and made me understood why it was not paid in a different manner to the people i have been speaking to at the call centre, he calles me every secon ot third day to inform me that he is still working on it, he didnt just keep quiet after the first call. |
