When it comes time to claim we got totally *******

My room-mate and I where broken into and R34 000 worth of stuff stolen, now for a student that has bought all that with there hard earned money, that's A LOT of money! The two of us, split and paid the insurance every month. When it came time to claim first we told sorry the one room-mate's stuff won't be paid for as they not a house member. A week later they called back saying they listened to phone records and we did say there was two of us so they will cover (seemed like awesome news). However they don't look out for the customers better interest, as they worked out that if both people are on the policy that they will effectively be paying out less than if just the one person was claiming as we are 'under-insured'. They then do a inventory of your house, and this is how they catch you. The items in your house are valued and inflated (forcing you into the 'under-insured' catch, BUT when it comes time to pay you, they then value your items as an entry level item.
They then divide the entry level items value by the ratio you under-insured for. I know this is not going to get my stuff back, and that it will take me years to get back to what I had. The fact is that they don't care!

Utterly Disgusted: As long as I am alive I will remember what Dial direct did to me, and no matter how good the deal sounds, I refuse to use them ever again.
