I went on maternity leave from April till July 2011 and have been trying to claim for maternity benefits since. I arranged all the required documentation but everytime I would submit them, the admin personel would find something faulty. Instead of just checking everything at once so that I can make the necessary amendments, I have had to go back and forth about 8 times! In August I finally submitted the correct documentation. My maternity leave is obviously long over but I still haven't had any response from them. Instead whenever I call,I am told that according to their system, I still haven't submit form UI.19 I submitted these form almost 2 months ago and am failing to understand what is the hold up! I have had to endure maternity leave without any compensation and to make matters worse, calling their contact center is fruitless so there is nothing I can do about it! All is well when they deduct UIF contribution from my income monthly without fail but the one time I needed MY money I am given the run around! I have had enough and if I had my way, I wouldn't even contribute a cent. Its sad that government insurance is more pathetic than other insurance.Very disappointed |
