| From 2 Sep 2011 until now, I have made 2 applications, numerous phone calls and trips to the Kempton Labour Dept without much success and no end in sight. When I went into the Germiston Labour dept I discovered that I had been given fictitious dates and a false sense of comfort that everything was in progress. The Germiston Dept was incredibly helpful and the experience was totally different to that at Kempton Labour Dept. I am restricted to using Kempton Labour dept because the claim process was started at Kempton. I feel prejudiced as there is no record of the first application or the 4 visits I made in this regard so I will potentially lose out 1 months' payment. It is the 3rd week since I escalated this issue to Mr Botha and there has been no progress since (15 weeks since I made the 1st application). I am really frustrated by the lack of meaningful and consistent service or empathy to my claim. Like many others who face the unfortunate fate of being retrenched, I have obligations to meet and this UIF benefit has been paid for. It is glaringly obvious that the UIF claim process is highly inefficient and requires re-engineering to make it work for the people it serves! | |||
