I applied for an extension on his working permit last year September 2011. I travel overseas quite frequently, and the last time I travelled I was fined, as the letter that I had from the Department of Home Affairs, stating that his application was pending, was not accepted. I think the customer service stinks, as everytime i follow up on his application, I get told its "pending" and I must wait for the SMS. How long will that take? I ask, and I get told I dont know. When visiting the Germiston branch, I got told to send numerous amounts of paperwork to the Pretoria branch, whos telephone number I have, but no one answers it. Then I was told that the fine is to be dealt with a completely different division. I am married to a South African woman, and when I went to Europe, at the consilate there, they told me I dont need to re-apply for a working permit, as I would get a permanent one being married to her. Can someone tell me what is going on? I am spending a fortune, as well as my time, visiting, complaining, applying and re-applying for things, when I am actually being pushed from pillar to post Thank you Filip |
