So after spending R330 a pop on "VIP" tickets (R70 more than the normal tickets and about R50 more than I would usually pay for a 3-day outdoor festival) to Gatecrasher, where we were promised: Swimming (it was a muddy bog), Paragliding (there was none), Quad biking (there was none), Aerialists (there was none), jet-skis (nope), paintball (there was none), Clean Showers and Toilets (there were no showers and the toilets weren't monitored or maintained so were full by 11pm which rendered them unuseable), Air conditioned rooms (no sight of any aircons), separate entrance (nope), preferred viewing of the main stage (nope), exclusive fan access (nadda). What we got instead was 1 gazebo for shade (yes, a 3x3m gazebo for 5000 people), no tap water (standard practice to provide water stations at these events) in 35deg heat and no clean up crews so the area was a minefield of litter. All in all I was incredibly dissapointed by the organization and production of this event. "Proudly" hosted by Soundscape Productions. I will steer clear of any future production of theirs in the future. I think this event was falsely advertised and I would like a refund. |
