MEAT GONE OFF

I PURCHASED A PACK OF BRAAI CHOPS FOR OUR WEEKEND AWAY IN MPUMALANGA. IT WAS A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY WEEKEND FOR MY MUM'S 60TH. WHAT A SURPRISE IT WAS INDEED!!! WE HAD OPENED THE MEAT THE SAME NIGHT WE HAD PURCHASED IT ONLY TO FIND IT HAD A TERRIBLE SMELL AND DEFINITELY NOT OKAY TO BRAAI. THE DRIVE WAS ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS, BUT WE HAD PUT IT IN OUR PORTABLE FRIDGE AS SOON AS WE BOUGHT IT BECAUSE WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY ON OUR TRIP AFTER WE SHOPPED AT THE CHECKERS. WE HAD ACTUALLY BEEN WARNED BEFORE ABOUT BUYING PREPACKED MEAT FROM THIS STORE, BUT NEVER BOTHERED AS WE NEVER BOUGHT MEAT HERE BEFORE. BUT NEVER AGAIN!! WE ONLY GOT BACK TODAY SO I WILL BE GOING BACK TO THAT SGTORE TO COMPLAIN TO THE MANAGER. AND HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO KEEP ANNOUNCING ON THE PA SYSTEM THAT CUSTOMERS HSOULD LEAVE BECAUSE THE STORE HAS ALREADY CLOSED....THIS IS USUALLY AT ABOUT 5 PAST 6 O'CLOCK EVERY DAY. TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE PRODUCTS. PICKnPAY EAST RAND MALL.....HERE'S ANOTHER CUSTOMER FOR YOU.

Over the Moon: To my amazement, I got a response 2 days after I reported it on this site. I got a call the next day from Arend (butcher manager), who listened to my story again. He profusely apologised and offered me a pack of chops (for more than the amount I purchased) and a chicken flattie. I went to see him the next day and he made up chops for more than double than what I paid and I got my chicken flattie. Now that was definitely superb service from the butcher department. Thank you Arend. Well done!
