| I have a home contents insurance with Budget / Telesure insurance. My flat was broken into and my goods stolen. I opened a case with police and contacted my insurance, their representative came and did the inspection and took receipts of stolen goods and promised my claim would be cocluded in a week's time. No corespondance after a week so I called in to follow up. I was told they havent been able to confirm with the police, i got them the contacts of the investigating officer. They confirmed after a week finally but then they said they still need to refere my claim because I gave them a wrong description of the type of dwelling i live in - a flat (as per my lease) instead of a townhouse according to them (insurance). Another week later I was told that my claim will not be paid for that reason. Does it take three weeks to establish whether the type of dewlling is townhouse or a flat? These guys (insurance) are in a business of not paying claims. Everything in my claim checked out - premiums up to date, police confirmed, proof of purchase for goods stolen, signs of forced entry to my apartment. i feel so hard done by and its clear that they were never gonna pay from the start | |||
