Approved vehicle not properly checked

I was so impressed with the customer service and the salesperson's response to my request for an approved BMW. The salesperson phoned me within a week with the BMW X 3 that I was looking for-I was thrilled because I told him that I was not in a hurry to find a vehicle. On my way home it was raining and the left wiper was not working properly...when I stopped home my husband showed me a broken plastic clip in front of the back wheel...
A week later I had a really bad experience when my husband came to fetch me in Port Alfred with this BMW X 3. Almost home we had to turn off on the gravel road to Rhodes. The exhaust fell off!! We did not hit a stone or a pothole and we were driving at 60 km /hour. BMW roadside assist sent a pick-up to fetch the vehicle and Sovereign sent me another car. The damage to this so called approved vehicle is R28000.00. I am very unhappy- how could this car pass the roadworthy test if the clip was broken and the wipers was not checked?
I also spoke to the previous owner ( also a lady ) and her husband spesifically asked the supplier to replace the wipers and the cover underneath the car. This is not acceptable as I payed for quality and peace of mind!
