Bestmed is the worst medical aid I have been on. It is impossible to get hold of a consultant. When you finally get hold of someone they cant help you and put you through to the next untrained and unauthorised person. In the past I have gone to the hospitals casualty services and then Best med does not pay the bill after they have given Autorisation. I would never recommend this medical aid to anyone. |

Hello Bronwynlaw, We tried ringing you this afternoon, unfortunately we were not able to leave a message. If this complaint pertains to hospital pre-authorisation we confirm that your hospital stay was authorised on 14/02/2012 @ 15h24. Regards, Bestmed Medical Scheme 25/02/2012 14h35 The account received (R390) for Potchefstroom Medi-Clinic for service date 15/08/2011 is a fixed fee charged by the hospital which is not covered by Bestmed and remains the member's liability. An amount of R 296.48 was processed for payment on 08/02/2012, in respect of the account received from Dr. Redelinghuys for service date 10/08/2011. The refund for service date 26/09/2011 was short-paid and the balance of R838.70 was processed for payment on 08/02/2012 too. Regards, Bestmed Medical Scheme |
