| I had to pay cash for medical expenses during November and December 2011. After I submitted the invoices, of almost R3000, I got an email saying that Bestmed is changing their systems or something and there is a back log but they are doing their best to get back to their '48hr response' on claims. I phoned at the end of December because I still had not received any payment. I was told that they are busy working on all the claims and it will be paid soon. I called again mid January and was told that all the 2011 claims will be paid by the end of January. On 6 Feb still nothing, and now I am told that it will be paid by this Friday, which will be 10 Feb. So at the end it takes Bestmed +/- 1 1/2 months to pay claims. In the meantime I am struggling to make ends meat since no one budgets for R3000 medical expenses. This is not fair. My medical aid costs an arm and leg, and if you don't pay your premium on time, you're just not covered! But I have to wait weeks for payment. It's unacceptable and I want my money refunded asap. | |||
