Cancelling

I need to have my wisdom teeth taken out and seeing as this is a very routine procedure I thought things would be easy with the medical aid. Not at all!!

I was supposed to have the procedure done today, however I only received authorisation from the medical aid yesterday! I called the medical aid to then find out what amount they are authorising towards the procedure, only to be shoved from pillar to post. After speaking to someone in the authorisation department who then said I need to call the customer services centre.

I called the customer services centre, they wouldn't tell me anything based on the authorisation code they sent me. They said I need the codes from the doctor. So I got the codes, then I called BestMed back, only to be told that I need to email them the codes so everything can be in writing and I would get a response in a couple of days. Uhm, I was supposed to be having this procedure tomorrow!? And they took over a week to authorise??

Basically nobody was interested in telling me what BestMed would pay and what I am liable for. I cannot go ahead with something until I know what I am getting myself into.

I find this absolutely disgusting. I pay over R 1000 per

Our records reflect that authorisation for the procedure was granted on 23/01/2012 and that on 26/01/2012 an e-mail was sent to you stating which sub-limits are applicable to the payment of Dr. Du Preez's services. Utterly Disgusted: Pathetic. I emailed Lee who reiterated to me that they called me and left a message, I have no record of any message on my phone. They also claimed that an email was sent to me the day before my procedure. I explained that I did not receive this email and requested that they forward this said email to me.

This was two days ago… I have heard nothing since. How difficult is it to find an email and forward it???!!! Unless there was no email sent in the first place...
