BAD SERVICE AND NOT PAYING ACCOUNTS

My frustration with Bestmed is reaching boiling point. It seems that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. After months of complaining and spending hours on the phone not one bill relating to my wife's sickness has been paid . My wife was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocytosis in August last year by a Hematologist. She was registered on PMB benefits by Bestmed on the 18 Sepember 2011. My wife needs to see the Hematologist often and I was assured these visits as well as her chemo drugs would be payed from the PMB benefit. To date however nothing has been payed. After numerous calls to Bestmed at - one hour at a time we are getting very frustrated with this Medical Aid, because nobody returns your calls. After speaking to Fleur and many others we are getting nowhere. Everybody including case managers promise to look into it but you already know it is just talk. We are now considering legal action or the newspaper to get some response. We are really sick and tired of all the promises. Hopefully somebody in charge will fire some people and employ people who can do the work. My wife have suffered enough to still worry about accounts that should have been paid.

Thank you for affording us the opportunity to liaise with you directly in this regard. As agreed, a comprehensive payment reconcilliation will be completed on or before the 27th of January 2012 and Lee O'Connor will contact you as soon as this task has been completed.

We confirm that our audit process as mentioned previously was finalised and all claims previously pended was released for payment. Your outstanding claims for October and November 2011 has been settled on 17 February 2012. According to available record your outstanding claims for 2011 and 2012 are now settled.
