I have a question regarding the installation & mounting of the compressor unit. I had a 24000BTU & 12000BTU installed in our living-and bedroom area. The fitters have installed the compressor unit in the middle of the wall and not even high enough for a person to walk under. The same goes for smaller unit for the bedroom area. For the larger unit I even took off the outside light for them to mount it higher up the wall just to clear the walkway not too mention a reduction in copper pipe length. The fitter basically insisted he will fit it under the light connection. When I question the efficiency of the long piping he said that this will not have an impact on the efficiency. From what I've studied in the field of thermodynamics & Heating & Ventilation this definitely reduces efficiency. Our neighbours had the same units installed and I was so impressed our neat the piping and installation of the units on the outside were. Their compressor units were installed high up the wall and closer to the outside wall. Also, it cleared the walkway area. I have not seen compressor units mounted like this in a residential area. Does fitment teams have different standards? What are we todo? |
