Does me looking for a quote mean you should debit?

I am so annoyed. I went onto hippo looking for car and household insurance. Within 5 minutes I got a call from various service providers, one of which was Auto & General. I don't know why I gave them my bank details, but I was explicit when mentioned that I'm looking for a quote and currently have cover with my insurance (which I haven't cancelled). So it turns out that I found a new property and put in an offer and got the bond approval, meaning I wouldnt take the options provided in the quotes. On the 1st of July 2011 my account was debited and I didn't notice. On the 1st of August 2011, I took notice, and realised I didn't even know who was debiting my account. Called my bank on 3 August, and low and behold it was A&G who had debited my account. I think I must have obtained 3/4 quotes, and I was considering another insurance provider, but A&G decided to debit my account anyway.What is that? So I waste my employer's time calling to follow up only to get told that they must listen to the recording, and that the refund will take 7 working days. Why should it take so long, when I didn't even give the instruction for them to debit my account? This is more than annoying, its wrong!

We confirm that the policy was cancelled, and that a refund has been processed. The money which was deducted will reflect in your banking account within a period of three working days.
