On 21 December Altech Netstar were advised in writing that the Netstar contract that we have had with them for almost twelve years needed to be cancelled with immediate effect as the vehicle to which the tracking unit is fitted had been effectively sold on that day. Their e-mail reply to me, on that same day, confirmed cancellation but advised that my last instalment on the account will be that falling due at the beginning of January 2012. I replied requesting an explanation as to why this additional month's charge was being raised for a service that I am no longer receiving. I find this totally unacceptable and believe it to be in contravention of the Consumer Protection Act. To date I have not as yet had any further response from this organisation. |

| Quite Impressed: I was contacted by a representative of Altech Netstar advising me telephonically that they have agreed to waive their standard one month notice period given that the initial two year contract ( as from February 2000 ) had continued running for almost twelve years ( with no additional documentation / agreement ever being signed ). I have however as yet not received the written confirmation e-mail as requested. Time will tell as to what eventually transpires. Watch this space. | |||
