| HEADLINE | Over 2 months to finalise a student loan AGAIN! |

| in 2010 we had a bad experience trying to get ABSA to finalise a student loan. So last year November we started the process early (or so we thought) of applying for the extension of the loan so our son can continue his studies in 2012. We repeatedly explained to all the ABSA staff we dealt with that the guarantor works in Tanzania and that all documents needed to be signed before he returns there. Our requests where however once again ignored. So, exactly as the year before , we have spent over two thousand rand on couriering documents back and forth between White River, Tanzania, and Potch, that ABSA failed to prepare in time for the Guarantor to sign before he left over a month after the application was handed in. The Branch manager now claims that the documents where "incorrectly signed" and that is the reason for the delay. What in fact happened was that the people that signed as witnesses apparently needed to be ABSA employees (??), something that was never mentioned. So a reprint of the same document had to be couriered to be signed AGAIN . An Application with Nedbank took us an hour, ALL paperwork signed right there, and the money was in our account the next day | |||
