Keeping clients in the dark

For about 10 years, if not more, I paid no transactions fees, because I had an Active Savings account on which I keep the balance above R20000. I also had free internet, because I had certain investments. Therefore I was shocked when I was charged an R285.20 internet banking fee at the end of January. After complaining and asking how it was calculate, I was refunded without any explanation. Now I hear rumours that I won't receive free transactions any more. Without any notification? (Should find out if this is legal). Searching in vain for any information on 2012 rates and fees on the ABSA web site. My personal banker is still trying to figure out what is going on.
If your goal was to reduce your number of clients, I got the message. I'm in the process of moving my accounts to another bank after being a Trust Bank/ABSA client for 27 years.

Quite Impressed: The friendly staff of the Centurion branch assured me that my account is restored to the way it was. Hope they are right. Don't want any more nasty surprises.
