| On Wednesday 11 January 2012 I received a letter in the mail from Absa that I need to fica my business account . Should I not comply, I will not be able do transactions on the account and only debit orders will still be honoured. The fica regristration for this account and other accounts with Absa was done some years back. To stay in good standing I popped into the Midrand branch today (Friday 13 January 2012) with all the documentation for the business account as well as our trust accounts. On arrival at the small business division, I was informed that I had to make an appointment with a business consultant and that they were not able to assist me as only two people were on duty and that both were expecting clients to arrive who had appointments. Yet, both were in casual conversation with each other and seemed unhappy that I had interrupted them. I checked the time on my watch 14h46. It may be Friday, but there was still sufficient time left to do the fica administration. I have been a client with Absa since 1997. I told the Absa business consultant that I will close all my accounts and walked out. He was not even concerned. | |||
