| HEADLINE | ABSA stole more of my Money - 4th time now! |

Last year, I had 3 incidents of ***** on my credit card. After reporting these incidents, I finally was forced to get a new credit card. After waiting 2 months for this card, it took me 3 weeks of paperwork to finally get my card. Now, after only 2 months, there is yet again a ***** transaction on my new credit card. This is a chip card and I have only used this once from a trusted vendor. Yet, it is a local vendor that keeps on deducting money off my account. Telephonically, I tried to report this case. I had to wait 20 mins and was tranferred 4 times. The only response is that the person doesn't know what it is about and can't tell me what caused it. Aka, your lose and there is nothing we can do about it. Then I tried to report it via email, but ABSA demands confidential account and personal details that needs to be send to a general email address with no contact name or number. This, in my opinion, is how the ***** is created. And they refuse to help you if you don't give them this. Going to the physical bank, they just refer you back to the call centre - dead end. Plus, more money was deducted that what is available, leaving me in overdraft - facility I don't have. |

I am relieved to report that this matter has been resolved by ABSA. ABSA did give me my money back and phoned me to confirm what the situation is and that it has been resolved. Thank you ABSA for resolving this matter within reasonable time. I do, however, advise all ABSA Credit Customers to be very cautious and keep a good eye on their credit card statements. This was the forth time that I was a victim of this. |
