| HEADLINE | Why the same tunes over and over? |

| Dear 5 FM. I am a steady fan of your station and you have some absolutely brilliant DJs. DJ Fresh must rank as one of the most talented DJs in SA ever. What really riles me though is the fact that you play the same small number of songs over and over and over again, often more than twice a day. The music world is massive and there is soooo much good music out there, yet we are forced to listen to the same small sample of music all the time. Why? As a listener one gets the impression that this irritates the DJs as well and they only seem to be allowed to play a wider range of music when it's not prime time. For me it means that I listen to 5fm for a week or so and then quit for another month while I wait for your music selection to be updated. Is this because you get paid to play certain songs or is it because you have to pay for each song you play? Either way this just stinks of financial interest taking precedence over the interests of your listeners. The problem here in the Cape is that the only other alternative is KFM. Now they really ****! - this is the only radio station on the planet where you can be sure to hear the Bee Gees and Lionel Ritchie each and every day . | |||
