| I have sent this report directly to the 5fm contact us page, but have not heard back from them. At the recent "Kings of Leon" concert at Soccer City. Music lovers were entertained by one of the world's leading Rock Bands. Music lovers of all ages, races and religions were also subjected to a display of arrogance and offensive language by the evening's MC, John Savage. He used bad language throughout the evening. Every time he introduced a band or welcomed the crowd he swore and cursed in an unacceptable manner. We couldn't turn him off and couldn't get away from his cursing through the giant speakers. At one point he even said "We've had Coldplay, we've had U2, but F*** them both." This is outrageous for a number of reasons. 1. The 4 Bands that played didn't even resort to bad language. 2. There was no age restriction on the tickets. 3. It is an indirect breach of the SABC code of conduct (There were SABC signs everywhere, it was a 5fm/SABC event. 4. There were families in the crowd including minors and seniors. 5. It was arrogant to assume that everyone/anyone would enjoy his profanity. 6. It made the evening unpleasant for many people. I'd like a public apology and my money back. | |||
